We invite the campus community to remember the members of our university family who have recently died in your personal prayers.  The next Memorial Mass is Monday, September 9, 2013 at 5:10 p.m. in Caldwell Chapel.  

+Edmund Pellegrino M.D., distinguished scholar, administrator and President of the University (1978-1982), passed away June 13, 2013.   Visitation on Tuesday, June 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 19 at 12:00 p.m. will be held at the Church of the Little Flower, 5607 Massachusetts Avenue, Bethesda, MD.   Letters of condolence may be sent to Ms. Marti Patchell, Pellegrino Center for Clinical Bioethics, Georgetown University Medical Center, 236 Building D, 4000 Reservoir Road NW, Washington, DC   20057-1409.

+Manuel T. Rojas, retired, Accounts Management and Assistant to the Office of the President, passed away June 9, 2013.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12 at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD  20901 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church, 4902 Berwyn Rd., College Park, MD  20740 at 10:00 a.m. Letters of condolence may be sent to his wife, Mrs. Maria Rojas, c/o Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD  20901.

+Rev. Thomas P. Halton, Professor Emeritus, Department of Greek and Latin, passed away March 29, 2013.  A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick’s Church in Kilnaleck, County Cavan, Ireland on Saturday, June 15, 2013.

+Helmut Braunlich, Professor Emeritus, former Chairperson, Composition Division in the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, and 1957 B.A, 1959 M.A. & 1966 Ph.D. alumnus passed away May 24, 2013.  Letters of condolence may be addressed to his wife, Ms. Patricia Braunlich, c/o School of Music, Room 111, Ward Hall, CUA

+Douglas F. Brown Jr., brother of Patricia Brown, custodian, Department of Facilities Maintenance and Operations, passed away on May 24, 2013. The viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Stewart Funeral Home, 4001 Benning Rd. NE, Washington DC  20019.  Letters of condolence may be sent to Ms. Patricia Brown, Department of Facilities and Operations, Room 200, Power Plant, CUA.

+Angela Bellardini, 2002 MSLS alumna, former Nursing/Biology Librarian, passed away May 18, 2013.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, West River Road, Minetto, N.Y. 13115, Friday, May 24, at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, East Second St., Oswego, NY 13126.  Letters of condolence may be sent in care of the funeral home.

+Bette H. Destro, mother of Professor Robert A. Destro, Ordinary Professor, Law School, passed away May 15, 2013.  The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on May 20, 2013 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Avenue, Akron, OH 44313.  Letters of condolence may be sent to Professor Destro, 2312 N. Powhatan St. Arlington, VA  22205-2116.

+Ann Marie Segedy, sister of Professor Robert Destro, Ordinary Professor, Columbus School of Law, passed away May 4, 2013.  The funeral was held May 7 in Hudson, Ohio. Letters of condolence may be sent to Dr. Robert Destro, 2312 N. Powhatan St., Arlington, VA   22205-2116.
