Student Minister Selection Process

  1. The Application- Applicants must discern if the Lord is calling them to service and sacrifice for the sake of Jesus Christ and his Gospel on our campus. If so, applicants should complete an application. The application includes personal reflection questions, a self evaluation of skills, and requires three references from employers, teachers, friends, etc. Professional staff from the Campus Ministry Office will be unable to write recommendations for candidates.

  1. Phase I Interviews- Applicants will meet for a first round of interviews. This round is held by CUA student leaders.

  1. Phase II Interviews- Some student minister applicants will be asked to move on to a second round of interviews held by the pastoral staff. It is important to know that applicants are chosen not only for their individual qualities, but also in connection with the larger needs and dynamics of each ministerial community. Said another way, an applicant’s personal merit is not the only deciding factor in being selected for the second round of interviews or a student minister position.
