Description: Music Ministry for the 11:00 AM University Mass each Sunday in St. Vincent's.

Description: Join the music ministry team for the 4:00pm university mass each Sunday in the Shrine. You can participate as a choral singer, cantor, solo instrument, or organist.

9:00PM Sunday Mass Music Ministry
Description: Join the Music Ministry team for the 9PM University Mass each Sunday in St. Vincent's. Singers pianists, guitarists, bass players, solo instruments, and cantors are invited to participate each week.

Altar Server
Description: Assist at Masses, both Sunday Masses at St. Vincent's or the Shrine and special liturgies in the Shrine. You will receive training which will cover the necessary knowledge for basic serving at both these types of liturgies. Experienced servers welcome!

Best Buddies (UCSPE)
Description: In this program students are given a chance to serve as mentors and friends with people who are developmentally disabled.

Brookland Festival
Description: Come and be a good neighbor! Participate in the Brookland Festival by helping to set up, working at the kid's corner, by being a parade marshall, or just coming to enjoy the fun. Please email me with the shift you would like to help out with. mendozae@cua.edu ____ Setup: Assist with moving tables & chairs, hanging signs, distributing balloons and with other décor, placing tablecloths. May include assisting setup of tents and assisting sponsors or vendors with exhibit table organization. Shift:8:00-10am ____ Parade Marshals: assist in spacing groups in the parade. (Meet at 12th and Franklin Street.) Shift: 10am-12pm ____ Kids’ Korner: Help facilitate kid’s activities such as face painting, hand painting, paint wall, sack races, and other kid’s games. Shifts:11:30-5pm. Kids’ Corner is in the grassy lot on Newton Street next to CVS. ____ Tear Down: Assist with taking down tables & chairs, signs, balloons and other décor. May include assisting taking down tents, assisting sponsors or vendors with exhibit table breakdown, and general clean up. Shift:4:30-6pm.

Chastity Outreach Day Retreat
Description: Thank you for signing up for Chastity Outreach's Day Retreat! The retreat it Saturday, February 2nd, 2008. It will run from 8:30-2:00pm at the Little Sisters of the Poor. Come and get to know the team better and hear talks by other members of Chastity Outreach. Freshman Retreat
Description: Welcome to Freshman Retreat 2008! Our theme this year is "BREAKAWAY!" The team has been working hard to plan an awesome weekend full of fun, fellowship, and faith.

The retreat fee is $40. For those in need, scholarships are available; contact Jeff Ossinger at 202-319-5575. Don't miss out on this great CUA tradition.

You can stop by the Campus Ministry Office between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to pay your fee and fill out your emergency contact card. All fees are due by Sept. 2nd at 5:00 PM.

Freshman Service Day
Description: Meet at 9:00am at Caldwell Chapel to start the day with Mass. You will have the opportunity to spend time with the elderly, help clean the neighborhood, help feed the hungry and much more. Learn how you can get involved in the community. End the day with a pizza party at 5:00 pm in front of the Campus Ministry Office. Please wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Going Deeper Retreat
Description: This retreat is a great opportunity to really delve into your faith. This traditional retreat will give you a great time away in prayer and reflection. Open to all, but intended for those who have made a retreat before, it has ample quite and personal time. The talks and presentations are given by priest and the professional staff.

Graduate Retreat
Description: Graduate and Law Retreat-- cost $25, including lodging and meals. Please contact Flor Salvador (97salvador@cua.edu) or Colleen Weir (09weir@cua.edu) to sign up. The retreat will be held at Camp Maria on Friday, Sept. 19 - Saturday, Sept. 20. The bus leaves around 5:00pm on Friday and returns around 9:00pm on Saturday. The theme of the retreat is "The Mystery of the Cross as Wisdom for the Mind," and the retreat will consist of talks, quiet prayer, small-group discussions, Mass, adoration, confession and evening prayer. The retreat will be led by Fr. John and Fr. Thomas White, OP. Open to all Graduate and Law students, this retreat has been organized entirely by CUA Graduate and Law students.

Gratia Plena
Description: CUA's women's fellowship, which seeks to support and build up the women on campus through discussion groups, prayer, service and socialization. Gratia Plena means "full of grace", in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our model. Groups meet weekly and other events are planned each semester - look for signs around campus or contact the office for more info!

Habitat for Humanity (UCSPE)
Description: Regularly helps area Habitat groups provide suitable housing for those in need. This group also plans a Fall Retreat in West Virginia and Spring Break Collegiate Challenge service trips around the country. Habitat for Humanity Retreat
Description: Participants spend a weekend at Rocky Mount, North Carolina volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. This retreat offers the opportunity to grow deeper in your faith through service, prayerful reflection and Mass. Please meet at Campus Ministry at 6pm on Friday, expect to return around 5pm on Sunday. The cost for the retreat is $40. Please drop your money off in the campus ministry office ASAP. Help the Homeless Walkathon
Description: Join Team CUA in walking to end homelessness on the National Mall! CUA is walking for the Northwest Center Maternity Home which houses homeless mothers and pregnant women in need. Your participation and registration fee of $15 (if you're under 25) will directly assist them in their services. Thousands of other participants will raise money for hundreds of organizations that directly serve the homeless. If we are able to get 70 students to show on Saturday morning, Northwest will be qualify for $10,000 from the Walk (the group needs 500 total and 430 are currently registered). Be the Change! Don't miss this National Event! We will meet at 7:30 am on November 17th outside the Metro.

High School Outreach Program
Description: Witness to local high schoolers and parish youth groups about the message of chastity. The group meets for formation throughout the semester; become trained as a speaker, or lead single-sex discussions after the talks, or pray and learn and support the team in other ways.

Homeless Food Runs
Description: Volunteers meet at the Loft and then pick up hot left-overs from the dining halls to deliver to the hungry in downtown DC. Bring a back-pack and metro money.

Hospitality Ministry
Description: Assist with greeting, programs, collections, and the communion procession at Campus Ministry and University Masses in St. Vincent's Chapel or at the Shrine.

House Staff Member (CUA Student Minister)
Description: The House Staff is chosen by the Office of Campus Ministry every year. Their purpose is to serve as student ministers, by having a regular presence in our Residence Halls; running Campus Ministry programs and serving as student ministers. Jamaica Mission
Description: Jamaica Mission is a Spring Break alternative trip to work with the poor of Jamaica, tutoring children and visiting the abandoned elderly.

Little Sisters Mardi Gras
Description: Mardi Gras Dance at Little Sisters of the Poor. Come and dance the night away with the residents of LSP. Come dress to impress: ties & dresses (please no strapless or spaghetti strap tops) & dancing shoes. Meet at the Campus Ministry office at 6:45pm for shuttle. Little Sisters of the Poor
Description: This group provides companionship to our senior citizens and assists the Little Sisters of the Poor in their work. Volunteers can go over any week night from 6-7pm to help out with serving dinner or visiting with the residents.

Ministry Day
Description: Grow your faith, grow your friends, grow your ministry! Join us for a day of reflection and enrichment for all liturgical ministers. Day begins at noon with lunch in Caldwell Auditorium and goes until 2:30pm. Immediately following, there will be a lectors workshop in St. Vincent's until 3:45pm. Resident Minister
Description: Resident ministers are students who live in the residence halls with a focus on serving the spiritual needs of the upperclassmen. Prayer groups, faith sharing groups, ministry of presence, forums on faith and life, and arranging for mass to be said locally in the building are just some of the means by which they aim to facilitate spiritual development in the dorms. Resident ministers, like the House members, are selected by the Campus Ministry staff each year through an application process.

SFL Sidewalk Ministry (UCSPE)
Description: CUA's peaceful witness of prayer & outreach at local abortion clinics. Each weekend we pray the rosary for the women, men, children and doctors affected by the abortions taking place inside and trained counselors speak to women about alternatives to abortion. The presence is meant to convey hope, love & healing for those involved in abortion.

Sophomore Class Service Day
Description: Thank you for registering for the Class of 2009 Service Day and Barbeque! We are delighted you will be joining us. Please bring a backpack, water, work shoes, and clothing suitable for outdoor work. Please arrive outside the Campus Ministry office in Caldwell Hall at 10:00AM Saturday, 7 October. Final departure time is 10:30AM. Lunch will be provided. Arrival back on campus is 4:00PM.
